    ok ive just broke with my GF and i need to facebook but i dont want to talk to her just yet. i need some head space. but i need to talk to some friends. is there any way to appear offline but still talk to people?? or just block her without her knowing temporeraly. i dont want to delete her or anything i just need some space for today. thanks

    put her on a friends list, then appear offline for that list. You can go to edit friends under the friends tab (I think.)
    Although if this doesn't work, you can always just ignore her.
