Problem with v6.4

I finally got my v6.3 and v6.4 to download and work. However, after downloading v6.4 and using solution 3 for the UAC problems...the game merely shows the intro picture as it uploads, then it just goes back to my desktop background...the entire game disappearing. I dont know why it did this.

Please help.

You are not the only one ... I have the same situation... I don't use steam (have the kingdoms gold disks), followed the instructions for disabling the UAC & installing the mod, got the icon on the desktop, clicked on it, got the picture of the crusader swinging his sword... and CRASH TO DESKTOP. And I'm tired of hunting through all the strings searching for an answer. All I really wanted was a mod that took out the stupid inappropriate names on the english list and that make the melees last longer. Anybody able to point me to a kingdoms mod that will do that and actually work?

Horica666 & Richgrove,

Guys, welcome to SS, sorry to hear of your installation problems.

1. Delete 6.3/6.42.
2. Defrag, Clean Up & Registry Clean
3. Disable your UAC
4. Create a folder in the same DRIVE as MTW2 , call it Stainless Steel, INSTALL 6.3
5. Test that it works
6. Install 6.4 on top of 6.3

This will work as all that is required is that SS and MTW2 share the same drive

Well, it is already all on the C drive, just in different folders and I pointed the installer to the proper ones, but maybe if I tell M2TW to install itself initially outside of the Win 7 Program files, maybe that will make a difference, but we'll see. I'll post back to tell if it makes a difference. Sigh, this is the fourth uninstall, clean/delete/reinstall I've done trying to get this to work.

Well, I don't know about Horica, but the reinstall seems to have worked. I guess the fourth times is the charm!

Navajo Joe.
I am running SS6.4 on a MacBook Pro with a Win7 Partition.
Is it necesary to defrag the partition?
How I clean the Registry with CCleaner?
What is UAC?
The folder can be inside mod as the riginall SS6.3 Installation?
