cant get Segmentat with Curia?

Ok, I have built the requisite buildings that the "sticky" thread says to build. After Marian reforms I built a roman fortress which gave access to named legions. I wanted Seg legions so I built a curia Hostillia in three cities. I then recruited legions but could only recruit the "republican" legions. Do I need to wait for the second rebellion or something?

I built:
Supply of rations
fortified region
Metal import
roman fortress>Curia Hostillia
?

did you grant citizenship? And some cities can't recruit them.

Have a look a the Area of Recruitment maps that is in the folder data\_IMPORTANT STUFF_, it shows where segmentata legions can be recruited

Yes, they have citizenship. One legion recruited in Rome, one in Syracuse and one in tarentum...all with citizenship. I will take a look at the map but I just assumed that Rome would be an aor for segmentata legions.

The only "segmentata" legion recruitable in rome would be the Late Praetorian Legion. And im not sure, its been a while since i played Rome, but i believe that you need to build the very last praetorian fortress/barracks(?) wich takes about fifteen turns or so in Rome to get the Segmentata in the Curia.

I may be wrong tho.

Lorica Segmentia only becomes relevant really late in the game.

Relevant or possible?...I like the way it looks. I also recruited in Syracuse and carthage so not just Rome. It's like I'm forgetting something.

There are NO segmentatas to be recruited in entire Italy, Sicily or Africa...only hamata legions

only the white letters indicate a segmentata legion..the red ones are hamatas...

Relevant, it was after AD by a bit.I can't remeber when the mod ends so can't comment on the use of LS units.

Earliest example of segmentata discovered to-date was dated as being from roughly 9 BC, so not quite.
