Playing as the Ottomans and I did not get Janissaries until 1550. Once I got them I thought, 'Cool, now I can fight against the other big powers'...... not true. It was 1635 and I had the southern half of the Balkans, the Crimea, Anatolia, parts of Armenia and Iraq, and Egypt. Bohemia comes down on me like the fist of an angry god. I levy up 120,000 men to fight with them. I had been pumping research into land and it has not seemed to have done anything. My prestige is always at 60+. My military tradition is usually at 30+. And yet, Bohemia's smaller armies continually trounced me. Even when I would give myself a slight numerical edge, their armies would destroy mine utterly. Any hints as to why I suck so bad?

How do I go about doing that? I'm playing HTT, btw.

It's under national decisions, IIRC HTTT's westernizing is much easier to get than DW's. I'm pretty sure it's just a matter of leader administration, centralization, and innovation to do.

lol I beat the Bohemians as the ottomans and they were the emperor so they large stacks to improve tech try founding a COT in Thrace and focus on getting geogia because they have gold which means great production in the providence

a westernized army always seems to beat the crap out of non-western troops when the numbers are anywhere near close, it kind of sucks when you are still in the muslim tech group because as soon as the europeans form empires you will have a hard time fighting them, although once you do westernize you can steam roll persia/egypt/india/whoever you want thats east of you.
