I Dont Think America Should Be In The Game

It seems like americas being added to just get more sales in the USA. I dont think america should be in the game. Its seems unnecessary.

As long as they don't make Europe any smaller then I'm all for it.

I think it should. The europeans did go to the americas. It gives a different place to battle, new troops and tactics. It also gives anohter incentive to play on so ships can be built to travel there. Gives a longer playing time.

Plus having a map that expands at different dates will be great for mods to expand into other areas.

Yeah like 10 years before the game ends, anyway I guess this will be one of the most discussed topics prior to the release.
I allready stated in various threads that I'm against it.

Well if the technology is available in 1490 for example there would be 80 turns left assuming there is two turns per year.

I think Americans could give a crap if the area of Mexico is in the game. Americans are going to buy the game for the same reason everyone else is FOR Medieval times.

Its likely only Mexico... that won't boost sales in the US.

Anyway, the idea is to rewrite history, so if I want to send an expedition to America 200 years before it happened I'm going to. Plus, conquering the Aztecs will be awesome...

I don't think so. American's would not have an inclination to play as the Aztecs or Mayans (Not part of Medieval's timeline) as they might the US army in WWII. In fact, even then, it does not automatically mean sales will boost. Many prefer other regions.

1500s mesoamerica has absolutly nothing to do with the USA or sales in the USA
i think most americans dont know who the aztecs were

besides- cortez's conquest of mexico was one of the most proflific military successes ever
he took a small band of spaniards and effectively used indian allies and engaged the aztecs in many epic battles- he even fought against a rival spanish expedition
why wouldnt anyone want that and why hasnt there been a good movie about it?

I believe Mel gibson is developing one. But it's from the perspective of a Aztec fellow, from what I hear.

I dont think thats the case. You really think that americans would buy the game only because it includes america? The gane is mainly focused in europe, america is just for fun and (hopefully) challenging expeditions.And of course the great economical potential.

Frankly, I don't like that the game will go far enough into history to allow for gun-heavy armies...let alone America. I just hope that I'll have more than enough turns starting from the very beginning to not have to convert my army to guns. Guns are boring.
