Ctd help!

I installed RTR gold today. Yes yes I know I complain about it but something drew me to it . Anyways I played a battle aganst Phyruss and realized that I didn't have my latin mod installed (never caused me problems) or Minimal UI

So I saved and installed/fixed that. But when I went back on to fight a battle...CTD! My first one...EVER! So I uninstalled Latin mod because I heard it caused problems and figured that for whatever reason I had gotten one from it now. But still a CTD!

So I dicided to let a turn pass and fight the battle in a different position...CTD! I looked in preference to see any mistakes and there were none. However at the bottom there was a ton of jibberish in some of my preference folders, while other's didn't have that. Some ended at Time....(don't know it really but it was with a T) While others when on about 32 bit UI. So knowing that I had never seen the 32 but and so forth before and thinking it was a left over from the 1.5 patch (my computer has the annoying tenedency when you uninstall to keep some files) and deleted it. Still though it crashed.

Any ideas? Oh and how do I add -show err to properties...what line is it? Umm do I erase anything? Basically just copy the excact thing from your properties so I don't make any mistakes.

EDIT: I posted this almost 2 weeks ago in the help forum and have gotten ****. I know this is the wrong place and will be moved or what not but the couple seconds it's open....I MIGHT ACTUALLY GET REPLYS. Or people will see the moved topic or what not and will respond in the original thread. I don't care. Im desperate.

Heh well like I said I got no attention. But why oh why did this topic fly to RTR? They have this as a gold version and most likely any miss haps on my part is a quirk of my computer. Meh whatever get's replys...

I'm not sure what's causing your CTD but this is how you add -show_err to your shortcut's target line:


1) Right click your RTW.exe shortcut and click properties.

2) add -show_err to the end of your target line. Be sure to leave a space inbetween the " and -show_err. This is an example of how it should look like:

"C:\Program Files\RTR 6.0 Gold Macedon\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe" -show_err

Normally it made it a tick away from starting the battle. This time the second it started to load it crashed...without a message. I put it in right it gave me no trouble just no message. The hell?

EDIT: Should I just reinstall?

2ND EDIT: I got it to work. But now I remember why I didn't like RTR for very long...-it's boaring as hell.
