    does anyone know how 2 change the weapon from a spearman to a normal swordsmen?

    You can only do this by editing the model. This requires 3ds max.

    so i cant give a spearman a excisting sword like a sword of a legion?

    Not without editing the model.

    Yes, but then you would also have to use a swordsmen model or it would look retarded.

    You need to both edit the model to assign the proper weapons, and edit the descr_model_battle.txt file to assign the appropriate swordsman skeleton.

    Unfortunately CA did not make a separate armoury of component weapons that could be assigned: gladius, falcata, kopis, spatha, axe, 2 handed sword, 2 handed axe, dagger, mace, spear, sarissa, hoplite spear, javelin, pilum, composite bow, self bow, sling, etc.
