Default How a horde picks their target?

    What the title says.
Can someone enlighten me on what makes a horde pick one horde_target city instead of another?
I had a problem with a horde choosing to attack a horde_target settlement 5-6 turns away, passing right in front of another horde_target settlement 3-4 turns away.

They think it'e easier pickimgs? Tbh, I don't know and I have seen the Mongols do some strange things like get defeated at a settlement and run, and three turns later back attacking the same settlement as it's a death wish.

I've read that, but hordes don't act the described way in my scripts. They don't move to the nearest horde target available (a couple of provinces away). They move towards a distant one (5-6 provinces away).

Of course. And deleted the RWM, exited the game and entered again.

Then force him. Horde army spawns and if at particular time it doesn't reaches that settlement or goes near a tile very close to other settlement then use the move_character command in a script and put him on the settlement where you want.

I did. If moved near the settlement I want them to attack, they move away. If they are scripted to attack it, they capture it, exterminate, and leave it as a rebel settlement.

you can script them to siege the settlement and maintain it

    an example from TATW

    Code:
    monitor_event FactionTurnStart FactionType egypt
        and not FactionIsLocal
        and I_CharacterExists eryn

        if I_CompareCounter attack_enedwaith = 1
            siege_settlement eryn, Enedwaith, attack
            set_counter attack_enedwaith 2
            terminate_monitor
        end_if

        if I_CompareCounter attack_enedwaith = 0
            siege_settlement eryn, Enedwaith, maintain
            set_counter attack_enedwaith 1
        end_if

    end_monitor
