    Default 1 man per unit

    Is it possible to have 1 man in a whole unit? if it isnt what are the lowest number of men a unit can have in RTW without CTDs?

    im keeping peasents as they are for garrison duty though

    The lowest is 4 i believe.

    ive got 3 before, and ive seen the computer have 2 in a town garrison after a battle.

    The answer is six. You cannot go below six when editing unit size (at least as of 1.0/1.1/1.2, I haven't retested in 1.3/1.5.) There are some tricks to make elephant units smaller...by adding riders you can reduce the number of beasts below six (riders must be six or more total--for instance, 4 elephants with 8 men worked if I recall correctly.)

    Keep in mind that 6 = 3 for "small", 6 for "normal", 12 for "large", 24 for "huge"

    You can have smaller scraps of units left after battle, but that is unrelated to the question asked.

    Wow thank you guys. Do you know if the whole army gets destroyed if i lose a battle? i believe the engine will sort out units that are in very low number im i right?

    will this work?

    im gonna have so much fun with this if it actually workes out. my little mortal kombat battles betwen 12 elite soldiers

    Also, if you create your own historical battles(by adding '-enable_editor' in the shortcut, full details see Mod forum) you can set unit sizes between 1-300 soldiers I beleive.
