Upgrading to Windows 7?

I've had such good tech advice on this thread I thought I would throw out a new one.

I am looking at upgrading to Windows 7 from my 32bit XP. My system is below.

XP 32
9800GT (1gb)
C2D e6700
4 gigs RAM (only 3 usable now with xp)
500w psu

My questions:

1. Is my hardware sufficient enough to support Windows 7 with gaming?
2. Will all 4 gigs of ram be usable once I install it?
3. Am I likely to see a performance increase in gaming going from XP 32bit to Windows7?

My system is about the same as yours, relatively speaking. I upgraded to Win 7 Pro 64bit and havven't looked back.

1. I can run Empire good on in.
2. It will use all 4gigs in 64bit.
3. It's been too long since I had XP to compare.
4. If you decide to, there are a few pointers to help you along after you get it home. Ask me, then.

Thanks Irishron. I'll come back when I've got it. May be a few weeks or so. I also read that it makes CPUs run better as most are built to run on a 64 bit machine anyway. +rep
