HOW DO I START THE GAME???

HI, I've just downloaded and installed this mod (version 3.0, downloading 3.3 atm), but I cannot start it. The install was in the right place, I'm sure. I click on the icon on my desktop and I get the screen. It says I'm supposed to type a letter to choose a period. I do that as well (for example, I type H), but the game doesn't start,

You are Welcome:

"version 3.0"

personally, I play the 3.3 version with the 3.0's launcher...maybe you should try this way.

If you are Vista's user, you should have one session it allow to you all the rights for any file: writting, displacing, copying...etc.
You can also turn off the authorization's system.(my way)
Also you should check if you had installed the hotfix.

Maybe it's because you've installed the game in Program Files? I have windows 7 so I have to install outside of Program Files for SV to work.

I have Windows Series Pack 2.

sorry yes I forgotten it, anyway all this authorization's system is upper useless for one familial computer...

the two systems have maybe the same problem, just you can move your folders. As me.

I have a somewhat similar "problem" in that no matter which letter I select I always start in the Late Era. Am I missing something?

Try installing the game outside of program files. If you have windows 7 (or vista I guess) then you won't be able to run SV correctly if M2TW is in program files.

type "d" for Darkage(after, choose Custom Campaign)
type "r" for Renaissance(after, choose Custom Campaign)
type "L" for Late(main campaign)

please to correct if the letters should be M or m, L or l, D or d...

I see this may have been my "problem." So for Darkage I have to pick Custom Campaign. I have a feeling this was possibly explained somewhere in some readme file or on the forums but I was too lazy to check
