Yes. Install a new clean RTW (with BI or Alex if you have/want them) and install RS2 to that.

RSII needs to be installed over a 'clean working copy of RTW'. Both RS1.6 and RSII 'break' vanilla RTW. So, by definition you can't install RSII over RS1.6.
We recommend that you keep your RTW install 'clean' and simply take a copy of that and install RS onto the copy.
