I have been waiting for some time now for this game (hardcopy) to drop down from around $30 to about $10, but still nothing. If anybody knows a way to get this game cheaply in the U.S. in new condition and as a hardcopy, info would be appreciated.

29 is already bargain bin prices by today's standards. chances are it's being kept from being lower cause of sega's influence.

You may be right, but I'll be patiently awaiting the day it drops. Just wanted to know if I had missed something.

It probably wont drop for several reasons:

A- You buying the name also, which is Sega. As Cinco said, this is a factor in such high prices. Which is way name brand drugs, for example advil, cost more than the same product, just made by the store. You are paying for the name.
B- It is a very popular game, that people will keep buying. As long as people buy, the prices will stay the same. Only if people stop buying, will the price go down.
    C- The economy..??

$10 is a bit optimistic... you might grab it for around that price during a Steam sale, or from another online vendor, but for that price to filter down through retail will probably take a while.

I'm pretty certain you could probably find Medieval 2 for around that price buried at the bottom of a bin, or plain vanilla Empire, but Napoleon? I don't know, maybe a month or so after Shogun 2 if you get lucky. Very lucky.

For $30 at bestbuy you can get Napoleon, Empire, and ALL DLCs for both games. (Empire & Napoleon Gold Edition)

Even if you have Empire its a good deal... go give the copy to a friend, eh?

While at Best Buy, I found their game 'clearance bin'. I bought STALKER: SoC for $4.99, and most of the other games were between $8.99 and $14.99.

I'm not in a rush. I guess I'll wait. I'm sure eventually there will be a deal. Until then, I will be enjoying Shogun II (or not).

    Thanks.

You can try checking ebay periodically, I got a brand new limited edition a month ago for $13.00, of course check sellers feedback.

I have been checking ebay...trying to get lucky. The China thing sounds like a good idea, but they won't ship it to the U.S. Same with my German Amazon account...they won't ship to U.S. and vice versa.

I've just played the demo - and I definitely want this game. Mafia II popped up in Steam today for £5 - something similar could easily happen with Napoleon.
