I agree with Annatar, and Space_Ed is a rude windbag. The fact that people supposedly live longer absolutely does not mean they are healthier. People in the past didn't have allergies, autism, ADD, cancer, MS, Parkinson's, ALS, migraines, and heart attacks all the time. A guy kept alive by machines until the age of 90 is hardly healthy.

3 people are hardly statistically significant. Archimedes died at at least 75, Nerva at 67, and Antoninus Pius at 74. As you can see, people back then lived a long time.

Still, people died for all kinds of reasons, just like now, so I don't mind that script, if there are tons of generals. It's just gonna suck grooming one for a while just to have him die.

What movie is the clip from?

Careful, you wouldn’t like him when he’s angry. Space_Ed: modder; scientist. Searching for a way to tap into the hidden strengths that all humans have. Then an accidental overdose of gamma radiation alters his body chemistry. And now when Ed Longhorne grows angry or outraged, a startling metamorphosis occurs. The creature is driven by rage and pursued by an investigative reporter.

Also, there was cancer in Medieval times, it was just less prevalent.

Yeah, just image for example that you’re playing the HRE and you spend a metric assload of time developing your faction leader only to have him drown crossing the Saleph river.

I'm sure there's a script in there somewhere

Did that happen to a real life HRE leader?

Just imagine you're playing as Norway and you get forced into an union just because your king decided it was a good idea to die at 40.

No obviously, but adding your own three people to make six isnt either...

I'll be doing another preview on Friday or Saturday. It'll detail several new systems, as well as changes to at least one of the systems described in the latest preview.

Laws were handled by the Russkaya Pravda in the lands of the Rus', not by any kind of corporal punishment such as dueling, how is that going to be handled?

Duels can only happen for Central and Northern European cultures. The Rus are Eastern European.

When children get 5 years old, the player gets the coming of age message I guess, because then they become characters on the battlemap. But will the player get a new message when they have reached age 15, for girls and age 20, for boys, when they come of age?

It's impossible to automatically kill/remove characters that aren't scripted or in the game at game start, as well as a host of other issues with that idea. So that's not possible, sorry.

Hey meneth is it in anyway possible to make it so that when you loose a siege battle all your units dont get wiped out? I understand that the average joes would all probably be executed but it makes more sense for any family members to be ransomed by the enemy if they didnt fall in the battle. Something similar to the pop-up you get when you win a battle, a choice whether to release, ransom or kill the inhabitants (including the enemy units/characters).

I think often in history people were ransomed or choose to give up the city in place of safe passage out of the city. I've never seen this implemented in any mod so I'm guessing its not possible but I thought you'd be the guy to ask
