    The trial version is free, it will include a small "fraps.com" overlay in the vids you record with it.
    You can see it in rattue's earlier vids, I think he upgraded to the full version by now.

    i dont know now but i used it long time ago and trial version was limited by 1min recording or such.... plus the watermark....
    Common sense removed due being Disruptive.

    FRAPS is probably the best out there, though I rarely record with it myself since I have a 16:10 screen which makes 1080p turn out real funny

    you can use MSI afterburner, its free and it lets you record as long as you want with no watermark. the main drawback is that it only records the video and not sound. but if you just add your own music later as most people do to videos then your all good.

    any updates to this thread? I tried fraps and I think it limited my recording ot only 60secs cause I was using the free version. Is there an alternative video recoder that can record sound also?

    FRAPS, I can record longer than a minute with it, although I've never actually made any videos with it for youtube and things like that. The main drawback with FRAPS is the size of the videos, but that can easily be solved by compressing them with a video editing program, where you can also paste the different files that FRAPS makes together since most video's get split up in parts of about a minute because of the size they become.

    "camtasia studio" is a great programm that makes rendered top quality videos with small filesize. Bad thing is that you can record some games only in window-mode. shogun is one of them :-(
    Is there any other alternative to FRAPS ?

    I heard XFire had a recording feature, but I hated XFire so much I only left it installed for a second.
