Over the past few months SA's state government, in it's eternal wisdom, has been working to sell off state forestry plantations in the south east/Limestone Coast. For many years this cheap source of wood has greatly helped the region's mills. However if privatization were to occur, this wood would be exported overseas for far greater profits. This could very easily cripple the local economy. Now what pisses me off most about this decision that it is to pay off state government debts. Meanwhile in Adelaide several hundred millions of dollars are being spent of a new sports stadium and the hospital is being replaced with a completely new building.
I feel that the South East should secede from SA since we are being screwed over by our government. The region pays plenty of taxes yet because of well over half of the voters are in the city of Adelaide, the Labour party couldn't care less about us (although I doubt any other party would). It's all well and good cutting costs to pay off debts, but why the fuk does a new stadium need to be built and also why the fu
k does a hospital need to be completely replaced when the problem is a lack of doctors?
Why has Mike Ran (state premier) had to increase staff in his office? Rather than manage funds effectively, state politicians feel it better to gain voters from the mindless sports addicts and sell off the blood of many communities.
