    Default Question on population code limites

    Here's a question ... is it possible to make M2TW games work like RTW where the population falls when you recruit units and rise when you disband? especially the former seems to be one feature that i really have no idea why M2TW no longer seem to have.

    I'm guessing that if it could be changed it must be in one of the XML files.... have anyone attempted this or is that known to be a hard code limit that they for some reason changed in M2TW?

    It is not possible unless you use extensive scripting.

    Reason it isn't in the game anymore is the failure of the AI to handle it. I remember conquering Gaul villages as teh Romans that barely had the minimum population even after more then 100 rounds. This is due the fact that the AI will spend its money on the cheap stuff if it hasn't got the money or opportunity to build. If you have low population then there isn't anything to build. If you recruit because of the lack of building opportunity then there isn't enough population to upgrade, which means no opportunities for building, which means the AI will recruit. Rinse and repeat.
