    Default Capital City and Unrest

What difference does it make if a city is the capital or not?
And why does one of my cities have 15% happiness penalty because of Unrest? I took that town about 10 turns ago, why are they suddenly mad about unrest?

Unrest can be caused by enemy armies or brigands, I think...

As for your capitol, it is the one city, I think, you have, that will not suffer distance from capitol unhappiness and corruption penalties.

Is there a penatly for changing your capital, i.e. the former capital gets upset because they have been "disgraced"? I would really like to move my capital into Greece (playing as the Brutii), so its closer to my Asia Minor cities

The only effect on the old capital is that it will have distance penalties, so public order will go down. But no dsigrace or anything cool like that. In fact, all the capital does is effect distance penalties. It used to, back before 1.2 or later patches, be were all your generals game of age, but now they come of age were the father is.

So really move it around as you want, gamewise. I always make myself(with a roman faction) keep it in my largest city in Italy, and then in Rome when I capture it. But that is because I feel it is more "real"

I'm playing as the Scipii and Syracuse is my Capitol. Try to get a central Capitol to minimize unhappiness.

I am using Athens as the capital of my Brutii empire because it is the center of my trading. I know it doen't give any bonuses but it feels good.

yeah some other guy posted this capital calulator before: It is really useful once u get the hang of it. Just click the cities that are in your empire and it will tell you where to put your capital.
