Frustrating Redirecting Virus. Help Please.

I have suffered from redirecting virus in the past two months. Its so frustrating. I have to click on a site 20X before I can get to the site.

I have already tried all the major free Spyware programs from Malwarebytes to Spybot. But problem still persists.

I need help please.

2 months?!? God your patient after two days of that I would have given up and reformatted. I can only suggest you download a new anti virus app like AVAST or Anti Vir get them updated reboot into safe mode and run them from there and see if they can remove it. If they pick up the name of virus write it down and look for a fix on google you may find manual removal instructions.

Many times I felt like throwing my PC out the window. But then I remembered I couldnt afford a new one.

Anyway, right now Im using Antivir. I ran a full scan a few times but problem persisted. However, I have not tried to do it on Safe Mode. I will try that.

Can't you just reformat the hard drive? It will save so much time.

I dont feel like reinstalling all my programs and recopying all my data.

You could try Hitman Pro, it saved me from a virus once just before I was about to wipe the drive.

While in Safe Mode run a Search of your drive. Look for any instance of the file name "svchost.exe" that does not originate in the Windows\System32 folder. Tell us if you find such an instance. Good luck!

Ok I've had similar problems before, annoying little buggers those malware viruses.

Anyways, I'd suggest the following first:

- Go to http://www.malwarebytes.org/ and download the software, this is a very good program to get rid of minor malware programs.
- Restart your comp after installing and run in safe mode.
- Start up Malwarebytes and do a full scan just to be sure.

If that didn't help, than I'd suggest going to a professional anti-virus help forum of some sort and get experts to help you with programs such as Hijackthis and Combofix.

Its probably tied to your user profile. Create a new user with admin rights and see if it happens when logged into that user. If not, copy the files from one profile to the other, then delete the bad profile.

Okay so I went into Safe Mode and I ran Avira and Malwarebytes. Some viruses and spywares were caught. However unfortunately the problem persists. Im really close to going berserk at my computer right now.

That's bad news, because it is highly unlikely that you'll get your PC cleaned completely, even if your throw all available antivirus software at it. I would reinstall.

Before, you can have a look at the hosts file, maybe that'll fix your immediate problem, although again: With a number of viruses on the system, I would reinstall.

And for good measure format it yourself before reinstalling. I know Windows will do it for you but I suggest making absolutely sure. Just be done with it.

Buuuuut...

If you only have a Recovery Disc then just do that and cross your fingers. Good luck!
