Napoleon Total War

Hello all! I AM BACK! many of you may not know me which i understand and probably don't care lol, but i am proud to say that i have returned to the community.

my question is really a brief one, but for some odd reason my search function is not working. i bought Empire: Total War upon release but i don't have the disk any longer after moving. i don't mind buying it again if i need it, but i was wondering if i even need Empire to run Napoleon? i read on one site that NTW is a stand-alone version.

so, my question is basically: can i just buy NTW from steam and download/install and play? or do i need ETW as well? also, is NTW able to be modded like ETW was (even though it was difficult, it was still possible)?

Napoleon: Total War is a standalone game, and I've found it easier to mod. However, they seriously need to bring out some modding tools soon.

You dont need empire to run napoleon. they are seperate. you should still have empire as you can download it from steam account
they can both be modded but I dont do that so someone else can suggest the best ones

thanks guys i am going to buy from steam in a little while... what are the mod tool everyone is using these days? or are they still using the ones from ltchambers and alpaca?

Still those. There has been a PackFileManager released for Napoleon, and the community has created a few other editors as well; we're still waiting on the tools that CA has been perpetually promising.

Sir Nikolas - kakšen vi podel?So basically if i just buy the imperial edition off steam for 29.99 i can play with all mods, correct? or do i need to buy the empire + napoleon game of the year edition? i already have empire (original) on my steam account i just saw, so i just need the imperial edition right?

Buy a boxed version of imperial edition or you will miss 5 units and you ll be sorry later.
