Laptop screens: universal or not?

Due to some failed attempts at repairing my broken laptop, I've got a new laptop screen lying around which I have no use for whatsoever. I'm thinking about selling it, but I was wondering if these screens can only be used for one specific laptop model or brand? Or can you fit every 15.4 screen on every laptop without problems?

For the most part, laptop screens are connected via a different method. Some may fit, but I doubt it. You could put it up on eBay or something, saying screen for "laptop xxx" but I don't think it'll fit every 15.4" laptop. At lest, a friend of mine had to Vaios, same size, but the screens weren't interchangeable.
