    Default Looking for a guide...

    Hello

I've just started to play RSII but it seems so far away from the original game (surely better) that I'm a bit confused with all the new features. Just started a new campaign with Carthage and I don't know how to make money, cause I don't understand the basics of economics in the game and pacification...Is there a good guide around for noob like me ?

    thx in advance

I don't know if there's a guide for it :s but I would recommend you to first of all trying to conquer Rome with Hannibal of course (without it the Romans will be extremely weaker) and then trying to expand your Iberian territories because you earn quite a lot there and you can't allow the Gallaeci to get too powerful! Try to fight against Gallaeci and Romans using allies like Boii, Arverni and Greeks (they are at peace with Rome at the beginning but they will be likely to start fighting for Sicily!). Concerning the economical buildings, try to build good ports because it's the best way to trade playing as Carthage, but also develop your road system to move your armies faster! If you don't have enough money to develop ports and roads, which is quite unusual when you're playing as Carthage, I would prefer the ports. After you have conquered Rome and strengthened the city defences I would in your place try to take the southern settlements OR if you are short on money than depopulate these cities or enslave them, with Hannibal as your general and his strong army (and if you know the basics of fighting against Romans) this shouldn't be a problem
    Tu quoque fili!
    Alea jecta est!
    Senatus populusque romanus!

Economy is pretty much the same like in vanilla.
Build mines, roads, farms, ports and markets. Some other buildings also increase ur income such as blacksmiths, town centers, regional focus and even stone walls.
It doesn't really matter what u build since all buildings are good, but if u are short of money u start with those.

There are some guides in here http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=390419 Aristotles folly wrote a particularly good one, which i think is number 6 in that lit at the top (it mya be slightly out of date with the patch, but it should still be extremely useful for you.)

    Aristotle's Folly's guide is definitely a must!
Also, when you've grown accustomed to RSII you can take a look at my guide: "Carthago Delenda Est" (just search that, you'll find it). Gives a nice alternative strategy for the Romans :
