    Icon14 Custom mini-map pips! NEW FotS version


    As with my NTW pip mod (which got over 5500 downloads!) I got fed up of looking at squares and triangles so I set about making my own pips for Shogun 2.

    Unlike the NTW pips mod where I imported the pips from ETW this contains brand new pips that I created specifically for Shogun 2.
    Personally I think these look alot better than those pre-school block shapes. Also It's easier to know where your units are on the mini-map, a katana wielding man is alot more self-explanatory than a square!





    As you can see from the picture the changes are:
    Infantry square becomes a Samurai wielding a Katana
    Cavalry Triangle changes to a horse
    and the Artillery cross changes to a Catapult

    Fall of the Samurai pip pack

    I had a request from someone that, seeing as the new expansion pack is more about rifles and artillery than swords and catapults, to change the pips to reflect that change. I'm more than happy to oblige and created the FotS version of this pip mod.
    It features only 2 small changes with the Catapult bring swapped for a Cannon and the Samurai wielding a Katana being changed to a Soldier firing a rifle.

    I have added the .rar to the thread in attachments, if for whatever reason you cannot download it post in the thread and I will post a link to another online hoster ASAP.

    Installation:
    Simply drag the .pack file to your data folder, which can be found here:
    Spoiler Alert, click show to read: 
    C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\total war shogun 2 demo\data
    . The mod activates itself automatically so there is no manual activation required.

    Compatibility:
    As far as I currently know this mod works with ALL other mods!

    Changelog: v1.0 - Changed vanilla pips
    v1.1 - Reworked the catapult pip
    FotSv1.0 - On request added a version for the Fall of the Samurai expansion pack

    Speaking of mini-maps, it would be nice to see some map texture improvements for the landscape rather than it was just made in MSPaint. Preferably with old-scroll texture look.

    Hmmm I might look into that Rhetorikolas. I have seen the textures in the game files and I'm sure they could be replaced with higher quality ones, watch this space

    Would there be any interest if I added an "alternate" version with more different varied pips? Stuff like Melee units JUST being a sword etc.

    VAC doesn't affect ANY Shogun 2 mod anyway...

    However my mod will only work as long as the other opponent also has it (which is unlikely so I suggest you temporarily remove mods when you want to play MP)

    is there a way to make bow units icons look different they look the same as melee units
