Default Candidate for adoption aged 85 and has "young" trait???

I´ve noticed a strange thing when a female familymember is really old and wants a man to be her husband(he's also old) The man has a "young" trait when he's like 85 years old

This could mean 2 things: 1. the man really IS young and 85 is just the beginning of his life. (genesis people seemed to be 600 years old sometimes)

or, 2: the "young" trait doesnt work for old female familymembers and thus creating old husbands automatically with the standard "young" trait

    Lets hear it

The character aging system has it's flaws....one of which is that the game, when adopting characters, has no method of telling the trait system how old a character is. So an adopted character always gets the first level of that trait...which is young.
Nothing to be done there except remove the whole system.

Be careful...if you continuously reject adption a few times the game stops offering new candidates...better accept the offered guys and put them on a city holiday if they are useless or to old...they might have children who can be good characters which values their adoption reprospectively...

really Chris? I think if you continously reject adoption, the game will create another way to make character/settlement ratio fulfilled, that means your men will start to sire more children

once the character/settlement ratio is lowered again, the adoption scrolls continues

Ok I didn't know that, thanks. But it also seems that lets say: livia of your familytree is 46 and sevillia is 16... than it means that sevillia won't be able to marry someone untill you accepted one for livia is that correct?

There is no contradiction to what I said......problem is that when you stop getting candidates for adoption it takes about 20 years (40 turns) unitl those "children" have been born and grown up to turn into characters, meanwhile you are hanging around without characters...this is one of the reasons because there are recruitable Generals now in RSII for lots of factions ...

Is it possible to cap the age of the characters that the game offers up? I.e. keep it less than 30, so the young trait is then always applicable?

    He meant husbands me thinks.

Anyways as you've already mentioned - there is another way the game will come up with
candidates for adoption: "man of the hour" and if you're short on generals it can easily happen
that you'll get one of those (if you don't accept the husbands instantly). The man of the hour
usually is a useful general with at at least one star up to three/four.
