Works with other mods?

I have MTW2 gold pack. Can I install other mods that modify the submods (Americas, teutons etc) and still have SS work properly. Please excuse my noobyness.

SS is mod-foldered so you can install other mods as well and play both (as long as they're mod-foldered too. though most are).

Ive got no real level of skill in anything to do with mods.
for me, modding up my game is an evening of downloading a mod, and maybe a few hours of dinking with it to work.
since I have nothing to base my assumptions and thoughts on..
Mind giving a quick summary of some of the relavent terms?
What does "mod foldered" mean?
stuff like that.
I have looked for answers to some of this, but damn, man, my google-fu is weaksauce.

It means that the mod doesn't take or is applied in your Medieval II Total War folder and so doesn't affect your medieval to original game. It creates a folder for itself so that you can download other mods and have no problems.
