Preference.txt - where is that on SS?

in my game options i m finding the shadows all set as very high\extreme and this is causing me some lags on the strat map and not only there... where is the preference.txt used by Stainless Steel??

Any option is either set in the default.cfg in the mods root folder (e.g. mods\SS6.3) or if not mentioned it will be read from the standard medieval2.preference.cfg.
If you don't have a default.cfg then check for any other .cfg file. There should be no preference.txt in the mods folder, either it is default, SS6.x or stainless_steelx.cfg.
