    Default WIP: Dale Dragon Knights

WIP of Dale's elite unit: The Dragon Knights, armed with a 2-handed claymore Highlander style and a face covered helmet with an ornament of a fallen dragon, a symbol of Dale's triumph over Smaug. They'll be the strongest offensive melee unit Dale can get but still in need of support units so they wouldn't get overwhelmed.

Awesome, i always liked to play Dale now will be more awesome!
Then, as throngs of his enemies bore down upon him and one of his followers said, "They are making at thee, O King," "Who else, pray," said Antigonus, "should be their mark? But Demetrius will come to my aid." This was his hope to the last, and to the last he kept watching eagerly for his son; then a whole cloud of javelins were let fly at him and he fell.

Very nice work. May I ask what resolution is the texture? I hope that not the usual 256x256...

It is 256x256. The model itself is 782 poly.

Well, looking at the first post, I can say that resolution is good enough for me...

I think that chainmal texture could be improved a lot if the resolution was higher.

The question is: Would you notice that improvement while playing? And what would be the impact in performance of a high res texture?

    1. Yes
    2. Almost no impact, since polycount is relatively low and it would be the AFAIK the only unit with higher res texture. And I pressume that unit size isn't big either.

    Agreed with intel on that.

The same could be said about all other unit models too... the larger the texture the better they will look in game.
I personally like this mod with low poly models and low resolution textures because it allows much more soldiers in battle. I rarely zoom units while in battle to notice the difference you talk about.

I really liked this unit. And I have to be honest, Dale was the least appealing faction in my opinion, they really needed some new units.

Right now practically the same as Gondor Winged Swordsmen. It's up to the balancing team to tweak them. I'm envisioning they will be a bit more expensive, slightly more men and slightly less defense.
