In my campaign the enemy armies makes one move and goes 3 times as far as any of mine can, which I would understand if they were cavalry, but I don't get why a full stack of infantry can infinitely evade me.

General-led AI armies have significant movement bonuses. Captain-led stacks, especially with Siege, don't get very far at all.
AI has a hidden trait

See that green thingy under the Carroburg banner? click it!
Pwning as the Pope on VH/VH Savage AI SS 6.4!
oh ok. It's very frustrating, I want to attack the annoying crusaders who stroll through Greece towards Turkey without military access, but alas it seems impossible. I bring an army towards them and they glide away.
crusaders especially have MASSIVE movement bonuses
Its a known fact that the Crusaders used Segways to travel large distances. This is why your army cannot catch them. Cheers!

I hate the fact AI has the movement advantage. Theres been many a time I miscalculated enemy movement much to my misfortune.
the only way to catch AI is to outsmart them... either blockade your territory w/ fortresses, or put ambushes, and place extra units on paths for retreat...
exactly. you could cross the Channel in a day during the Middle Ages but in M2tw and most mods the time is more like 3 months, given the movement points you lose. and I read that you could cross the entire persian empire (ok, not the same time period, but it still applies) in 6 months, but in TW the time is more like 15 years. i know that this was necessary to prevent unrealistic blitzkriegs, but man is it annoying.
do leave your name if you give me rep. i may just return the favor. maybe.

Remove the traits that give movement bonuses and you're set.
Crusaders don't have realistic movement points, because they took several years to reach Jerusalem. Also, just being "high on God" doesn't mean you don't need to sleep or rest anymore. I don't see why crusaders should receive a movement bonus.
Uhh...with BGII, it's already extremely difficult making it to the Holy Lands without being shackled with Pneumonia/Scurvy/Supply Problems/Weariness
It doesn't have to do with realism as we already know it's ridiculous how long it takes to travel from A to B in TW movement points. The scaled down movement is there to prevent blitzing and sieges from the FoW as well as to add some scale and pacing to the map, but none of those are necessary when the target is on the other side of the map.
I think the increased movement point crusade/jihad armies works well as a mechanic, even if it is frustrating to see 5 full stacks come out of nowhere.
It's annoying because they never ask military access. Also you'd think if anyone would get a movement bonus it would be the army who's in their homeland and thus knows the routes to and fro. In any case, they decided to board a fleet in turkey, I guess they abandoned their war with them, so I just sunk it, doing away with several thousand pesky Catholics.
Use a fleet and the Ctrl+A trick. A crusading fleet will go FAST.
