minimizeing over and over agian.

when i try to play as particular factions, the game keeps minimizing after the splash screen. and every time i re open the game it minimizes again instantly. what do i do to fix this?

This could be a function of using the 'bloom' effect. If you are using that turn it off from the launcher and see if it makes a difference.

As you've not supplied any technical details that's the best I can do.....

theirs not much more i can tell you besides that the only working faction is rome, and the problem started around the time i patched rsII

Do you have your browser running in the background? This can sometimes cause rtw to minimize.

I had this until recently. I could get it to work every time if I rebooted my PC - bit annoying but it worked. I've upgraded my RAM from 4GB to 8GB now and it seems to be OK, though I'm not sure that is the only reason as 4GB should have been more than enough (had been previously). Once I had the problem it would occur with or without the patch. The first time after reboot it would be fine, anytime thereafter it would minimize.

Sorry I can't give an absolute answer, it wasn't bloom or anything like that. It's possible it was a windows update? Does it work after a restart of the PC?

Hmm, spoke too soon, it's back however I know what changed. I installed 3DMark11 - not sure why that would have an effect but re-installing now to see if it goes away (hopefully).

Are you playing the game in 'windowed' mode? If you are try switching away form that. At one stage I was using Windowed Mode and I had a 'minimzing' problem.

I used the -ne switch to put the game in 'windowed mode'. IN the shortcut properties I have the game run in a 'Normal window' rather than 'minimized' or 'maximized'.

Windows 7 here. It does that to me with older games when I have other programs running at the same time as the game (internet browser as already mentioned, messaging service, wmp, etc.). Closing them solves it.
