Default Which GTX 460 Video Card???

I'm not an expert on this so can someone tell me what the difference is between these three cards? Why are the prices so radically different for the same card? I'm going to buy a new video card and I sort of have my mind set on the Nvidia GTX 460 1GB so what is the difference between these?

    EVGA GTX 460 (Fermi) 1GB

    GIGABYTE GTX 460 (FERMI) 1GB

    ASUS ENGTX 460 (Fermi) 1GB

As far as I can tell they are all 1GB and pretty much have the same specs. Should I assume, as always, that the most expensive one will give me the best performance?

Thanks for the info. Out of curiosity, what kind of CPU are you running?

Speaking from an engineering standpoint, Asus has the best product.

Speaking from a gaming standpoint, they are all identical in performance.

I recently bought the Gigabyte one (upgrading from a GTS120 - BIG IMPROVEMENT!) and it runs the game perfectly fine!
There probably really isn't that much of a difference between each one, but I would definitely recommend the Gigabyte after having bought one.

There isn't any difference between the cards in terms of performance. Only differences are in terms of cooling solutions (gigabyte looks the best to me) and maybe games bundled and warranty.
Based on warranty I'd recommend the Evga, since they offer lifelong warranty.

Get the GTX 560 ti. Only a little more expensive. I have the 460, and it's fine, but for a bit more you'll want the performance boost with the 560. ESPECIALLY for NTW... or any total war.

One GTX 460 can max a game like BFBC2.... but not NTW. I have two 460 1gb's in SLI, and I'll get lag at 2v2 battles (4xAA, 16xAA, ultra unit size, ultra settings but no ssao).

I'm running a 500w power supply. Is that enough for a 560ti? The next thing I need to do is figure out if the 560 will fit in my case but I may still go with the 460. Thanks for the recommendation.

The 560 and the 460 are the same size. As to your power supply... 500W isn't enough info... what is the brand, how old, etc? A good one might be enough, but I wouldn't bank on it. Other people know more about power supplies than myself, however. I ran one 460 on an old-ish 500w psu for a while, but I think it was starting to fail. I run two 460s on an 80+ silver 1000w psu, but that's probably a bit overkill.

How old / what brand psu do you have? If it came with your case I wouldn't trust it.

I was thinking of replacing my HD 5770 with this card but how much of a performance increase I am really going to notice? Iv got a E6400 cpu (overclocked to 2.7) will this impact its performance?

My C2D e7500 (2.93ghz) definitely limited my GTX460(1gb). I think you wouldn't get the fell benefit from a 560ti, but I'm not an expert. The X4 965 or 970 are pretty cheap and good for gaming... you might need to invest in new mobo/cpu/ram before you go GPU.

Alot of people say that GPU is everything, but like I said I don't even think your processor can really keep up with a 460... but that's just from my experience. I now have an i7 950 @ 3.7ghz... that doesn't skip a beat with two 460's in SLI... though I wish I had waited for the 560, I was too eager. Oh well. 460's are very good, though if you really want to max games like NTW or Shogun 2 you should also think about cards with more than 1gb ram (assuming you want, say, 4xAA with ultra size armies, etc.)
