Default Question on how to transfer saved campaign

Not sure if this is the right place or if it needs to go in the technical help forum, but here goes...
I'm getting a new computer tomorrow ( but quite frankly i don't want to have to start my well advanced Roman campaign all over again on it. Is it possible, after installing RTW and downloading RSII, to transfer that campaign onto my new computer? i'm thinking an email with it attached might work, but i don't know where it would be.
    thanks in advance.

    I had the same problem.
For me, the saves were in \Rome Total War\Play_Rome\saves
In guess you should find them there if you played Rome 0 turn, if not, they will be in the other Rome folder
    Cheers

saves are located in their current modfolders and can be copied without a problem...
    example path:
    Rome Total War/Play_Rome/saves
    or
    Rome Total War/Play_Rome_One_Turn/saves
just remember the engine you used...RTE.exe, BI.exe or Alex.exe as with the wrong engine the save does not load or the campaign will CTD after a while.

Tthe saves are in their modfolders and NOT in the RTW main folder...
and the save folders are only created after actually saving a game the first time (same goes for the preferences folders).
So if you have your old saves then play the game save a game and you have a save folder where you can copy them to...
now if you say you can not find your saves in the campaign your playing (Play_Rome) then its cause there are none (deleted?)...

Er, sorry, i guess that wasn't clear, RSII is in my RTW main folder. i copied the vanilla folder and put it somewhere else. as for everything else, i have saved a rome campaign 0-turn, and there is nothing in my Play_Rome folder but a file titled data.

well..dont know what you have done or do or whatever...
the saves and preferences folders are created when playing the first time and saves are in there in their own modfolders...
if there is no save folder then you either deleted it or you did not saved a campaign or its a new install which has not been played yet....
it has to look like this...
    Attachment 145526
    and NO...there are no exceptions

i assure you, no lies, not screwing around...(i'd upload a screeshot but don't know how...)
i have a Roman campaign at 584 AUC, saved. i just played it, nothing is wrong with it. My Play_Rome folder has nothing in it but a file called data. yet i have a saved game in RSII. i don't know what's wrong. perhaps it is hidden or some unknown reason? UAC? i'm using Vista, if that helps.
EDIT: i checked out my EB folder (different location) and i have a saved game there too, and there is nothing in the saves folder there, either. something is up.

errr...Vista sucks...maybe Vista stores the saves in some location in the user folders like my documents/my games/RTW/saves or my documents/Creative Assembly/RTW/saves something like that...
can not think of anything else

Well, saves are in .sav format. If you didn't already, maybe you could do a good ol' search in explorer for *.sav or your_save_name.sav

    i did...
but the problem was that i kept getting different saves. i found my EB save fine, but not RSII.
EDIT: is it possible that my save games would go under the bi folder? there are some saves there, but they don't seem to be the right one.
