    how can i turn show_err on?

    Right click the RTW shortcut on your desktop, select 'properties' amend the 'target' box, after the end quotes for the path name type:
    space-show_err
    eg. "L:\Copy of Rome - Total War\RomeTW-BI.exe" -show_err

    It will then run whenever you use that shortcut.
