i love the ones with high tec
well i customize my games and scripts so all factions have infanite money and all construction is in 1 turn...also changing the campaing scriipt so the AI can run outta money and no "garrison script" of any kind
We all die, its just a matter of how.... and when

Small and poor/low tech, kinda like how the Romans start at the beginning of the Late Era campaign though its still easy to do a ''Rise of the Romans'' within like 50 turn, well in my opinion. Nevertheless the first 50 turns are a good challenge.
i like small high tech, i too hate militia army's and i find large empires a pain to administrate
I prefer high tech units and well developed cities. Thats why I love CS with their packed Jerusalem. As some would say - size doesn't matter![]()
If you see something you like in my posts +rep meThx in advance
I don't care much for the size or development of the faction I'm about to play. What matters most is its location (and though less important, the unit roster). I like fighting different types of enemies. I always get bored rather quickly when fighting to same armies and units over and over again.
I prefer to start with a faction of the poor (but not too much) and small to expand in a second moment.
Prefer to start and inconsequential and wrench power from the grips of nothing. Just like I always start as a county in Crusader Kings, it makes becoming King more satisfying.
To be poor like a european faction is not the same like being average like cumans for example.
One other thibg to consider, is to have a small nation like Portugal or a small nations at huge area like Cumans again. These are factors you can consider.
If you play a faction and you get Venice, Milan, Genova, you can be tiny, but you will have less problems, than you have 5 regions like Norway.
I always I loved small factions, Aragon, Teutons, the only big factions I play are Byzantium and Turks, because imersive campaigns, but I hate like turk to have so big empire, same in early with greeks.
Kill Them All, Let God Sort Them Out!
Small and low tech, cos they you can build them up the way you want to. Have different cities specialise in different kinds of units etc to get the best of each and so that you can manipulate others to obtain regions you want them to have etc. Love building up from the basics. Also, as has been said before, having a large empire etc gets boring and cities/castles lose individuality and almost want to auto govern half my towns which get forgotten (though i NEVER would).
Small & low tech so u have to scratch and fight for everything u get. And wait before u can tip battle odds too much into your favor. It's not too often in TW where u feel and are truly disadvantaged, so u should at least start that way and work your way to eek out an edge of one sort or another.
