Definitely getting a Llano laptop when they come out. That's some pretty nice performance.
I'd wait for independent testing.
We can say AMD nowadays is at least as good as intel if not superior, right?

Ehh, I'll admit AMD gets slaughtered by Sandy Bridge, but you're completely ignoring history but implying AMD has never had top tier performance.
AMD dominated Intel in performance from 2000 to 2006, since then Intel has dominated.
But that's because Intel has a monster R&D they can use to churn out new architectures every few years whereas after AMD's acquisition of ATI and their losses from the Phenom I range, they don't have the money or resources to design completely new micro architectures from the ground up like Intel.
Frankly, the fact that Thubans compete with Bloomfields is incredible in itself. Bloomfields were built from the ground up on the Nehalem architecture where the Thubans are basically built on a foundation of Athlon and Athlon 64s with numerous tweaks along the way.
As for the Llano demonstration, I'll wait for independent testing too. But Fusion is going to bring a lot of performance per watt for notebooks. Hopefully they adapt it for tablets, they could really take the market by storm. Bobcats particularly.

Well, didn't even own a computer (and knew little about them or the internet for that matter) before 2006 so I guess that's why I didn't know that
This is why I'm going with the quad core i7-2600k. You can easily get 4.6Ghz. on air with them so I have a feeling that will be more than enough for any game for the next 3ish years.

waiting for the 8 core beast to rear its head so i can see some benchmarks before i make a decision
An 8 Core Bulldozer purchase would be 95% e-penis booster for being leet. Unfortunately, games won't be boosted by 95%.
Games today struggle to even utilise 4 cores properly, let alone 6. How would they be able to use all 8 effectively?
What's a little bribing OEMs and multi billion dollar payouts between friends?![]()
Well AMD certainly seems to have turned a corner in the last 6 months, they quarterlies are in the black, their first implementation of Fusion has had nothing but praise and I saw on one rumour website a 3.5Ghz Bulldozer being benched against an O/C Core i7 2600K @ 4Ghz and lets just say the results show Intel won't be getting all there own way this time around (assuming of course the source wasn't a load tosh).![]()
