The coming update?

Am I right to think that the new update will stop allied teams from starting war with each other because I think I read it somewhere. thanks.

Could you delete all the data involving Diplomacy?this would certainly stop the war betwen allies thing

Unfortunately you can't do that. Hardcoded

Yes, it will be scripted. But there will be a fine set of conditions - war between allies will be very possible in the right circumstances. And the player can do as s/he pleases

I liked defending Gibraltar from the Spanish hordes. It felt like my little Alamo...

Until I ordered the artillery to fire, then it was just watching my men massacring the charging enemy.

The actual fighting is fun, but the mauling of the diplomatic relations is not. And correct me if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure that you cannnot recruit artillery in the Gibraltar early in the game (when the spanish attack you).

No, but if external factors are right then the restriction will be lifted. By external factors I mean the status of other things such as other alliances and other wars

I always recruit one artillery unit in England and send it down there on one of those very cheap and fast to recruit ships.

Hehe, basically 5.0 is a massive update and as such will take a while, so much that it's impossible really to put an estimate on...Rest assured though the team is working hard to get it done
