CHaps, does anybody know of skin packs that will work with 1.5? I have just reinstalled the game after an 8 month hiatus and I have no clue about all those great skin packs from last year and whether they will work?

All the skins are compatible with 1.5 just don't use the DMB files that some provide. It's better to hand place the texture lines.
