Gifts and invasions

I just had the Dark Lord call an invasion against E. Osgiliath (owned by me). As a cunning plan to stop the invasion, I tried to gift it to another faction, whenever I try to though, the game crashes? Is this deliberate or can anyone think of a better solution?

lol. I usually give it to Rohan to or Silven Elves; but you cant give a region or city to another faction if its going to be invaded.

This ol trick to stop Jihads and Cruesades, sounds like the team made a script to prevent that.

if u cant defend city just leave it without garrison and let enemy to take and after the invasion try to regain it
of course it's shame to leave your great cities like edoras or minas tirith but if u know that u cant defend it, it's better to let enemy take it.

Just let the City falls at enemy hands

with this will stop an enemy crusader army come to ur city

then after u have lost it take it back vs only 1 enemy and not vs 3 or 4 Mordor Isengard Harad and Rhun

just try it

Yeah, I'm going to leave it to be captured, I've used this before as tactic anyway, the reason I wanted to give it away instead is that it will prevent the multitude of enemy forces arriving at the city in the first place, which can be a pain. Oh well, at least I have the troops to take it back.

You are Mad The White City Will never Fall ( At least not when Aragorn Lives) but yes Letting the Settlement be taken is a good strategy or you can end up with rhun harad mordor isengard combo army xD

If it's really that bad, gift it to a bad guy, not a good guy. In my first Eriador game, I gifted to Isengard and then marched back into the undefended city the next turn. I didn't have a game crash. And all I lost was the culture building.
