    Default alt tab during windowed

Hi can someone heklp me with the alt tab feature during running windowed mode when i select game windowed=1
borderless window=1 in the cfg file

Is that the correct setup for backing out of game without it clsoing. As when i back out it only gives me the open windows not returing me to desktop as i would like. It would be very much appreciated as i like to be able to back out of the game without losing any progress or when the ai doing turns and listen to youtube, or even just replying to messages through steam even though i use disk version. Also does the ready 1.4.4 enligh full torrent come wiht the fps booster or i need that seperatley.

(note that the game does let me alt tab to desktop but the game window still appears above the desktop how do i fix this)

When alt tabbing, Hit the windows button if you have it. Then I usually click the show desktop button. OR if you have the other applications running, Just keep hitting alt-tab to select whichever one you want.

Alt tabbing in Medieval 2 is funny. It will usually destabilize the game executable causing it to slow down and crash. Stainless Steel 6.3 and later uses it and if you alt tab out it will severely mess with the game. Best not to alt tab in the first place or to alt tab from fullscreen mode.

I prefer alt tabbing in fullscreen mode.

Wow. I was searching for how to get Med2 to run in Borderless windowed mode because it always crashes when I alt+tab on my current Windows 7 install, I NEVER knew this was possible.
It turns out, you can just add 'windowed = 1' under the video section of medieval2.preference.cfg if it's not there already (or whatever mod you are using) and then 'borderless_window = 1' and it works. I never
would have tried this because I was 99.9% certain it would just cause the game to crash immediately just like everything else that isn't meant to work - Generally, games don't support the users simply
adding additional fields to settings files!

Yes it works like a charm, now I just have to figure out how to get the mouse to lock inside the screen while its in focus, its a problem since I have 2 monitors I can never scroll around the map / battlefield.

Use the numpad directional buttons for scrolling, (when playing on a laptop get a usb numpad extension).

In the latter case it was the duty of any thinking human, to press himself into the front of this depraved movement, to perhaps still prevent the extreme, in the former case the founders of this peoples disease must have been true devils; for only in the brain of a monster - not of a human - could the plan for an organisation take meaningfull form, whose purpose must lead toward the end result of a collapse of human culture and thus to the desolation of the world.
In this case only battle remained as a means of final delivery, battle with any weapons that the human mind, intellect and will are able to comprehend, regardless, of whom fate would gift with it's blessing."

Or just change the short cut key settings. I play all my MTW2 mods with WADS and turn left, turn right etc keyed to my FPS settings since I don't have to look down to use those. Especially in battle its handy because you can scroll much quicker when both mouse and A are going left... or forward/up with mouse scroll wheel. Also on the campaign map its easier to scroll with keyboard and select with mouse.

I do use keyboard scrolling to get around the campaign map & battlefield quicker (so it's not true that I can never scroll) but it's still nice to be able to use the mouse to scroll as well. I guess only using the keyboard to scroll is one option but it's less convenient.
