Installation problems.. i need help

Good day.

I have downloaded the 6.4 plus the 6.3 via filefront... but i dont understand the instructions there.. and names of files once downloaded are all messed-up like:

CAVV1HKQ.001
CA7IJMNT.001
CATKOBXX

Etc. etc..

now im in the situation i dunno what files do i have to launch or how to unzip files via 7-zip...

It's all a mess.. i need help please

I have win7 (uac disabled) and med2 gold edition

I am at work just now, I will cross check against my files, when I get home later.

I know one thing 6.4 is CATNF9ZH.

Please do me a favour, can you post the link where you d/l this from, in the meantime

Files are in a folder i placed in C:\ and called SS3 or something..

Ok so looks like you just downloaded everything down the post in order, so based on the time slots im going to give you what to do.
First two files are 7zip, install that on your computer (if you need to google it and install it from there if the download you have doesn’t work)

***The next file is the helper file, ignore that for now***

Catkobxx and cabb59c2 are the same file, u just have two copies, not ur fault there’s two on the post. So delete/ignore one rename the other ss6.3.exe

Ss6.3-1.zip.001 is part1 of 3-1 and cagoqsxw.002 is part2 of 3-1 so rename it ss6.3-1.zip.002

Cavv1hkq.001 is ss6.3-2.zip.001 And Cawt6zop.002 is ss6.3-2.zip.002

Ca7ijmnt.001 is ss6.3-3.zip.001 And Ss6.3-3.zip.002 is part2 of 3-3

Cam2zrhw.001 is ss6.3-4.zip.001 and Caylq58l.002 is Ss6.3-4.zip.002

Ca6zcpir.bin is part 5 so rename ss6.3-5.bin it should be unzipped by the installer
***rename all the listed ones to the red names***

If you need more instructions than this let me know…but
1. create a new empty folder name it ss6.3install
2. Then copy the renamed ss6.3.exe and ss6.3-5.bin to it w/o unzipping anything
3. Then open up 7zip. Go to the folder that has the renamed files and the old files (the one in the pic above) in its browser and highlight ss6.3-1.zip.001 and ss6.3-1.zip.002 together (hold shift or ctrl) and extract to your new folder ss6.3install. (make sure u extract each ss6.3-?.zip.001 and .002 together (**four total unzips***).
4. Repeat for ss6.3-2 thru ss6.3-4
5. Then open the new ss6.3install folder after unzipping should have/look like this in some order
ss6.3.exe, ss6.3-1.bin, ss6.3-2.bin, ss6.3-3.bin, ss6.3-4.bin, ss6.3-5.bin
6. Click the ss6.3.exe file and follow the directions to install 6.3.

--edit--Oh and rename catnf9zh to ss6.4.exe as najavo joe said and move to your desktop. and once your done installing 6.3 click and run ss6.4.exe.

p.s. this involved some guesswork, but should work. If it doesn't it means i can't figure out which ones are which for a few of these and you'll have to redownload. When you download make sure you rename them on site, it looks like the computer you were using renamed the downloaded filefront files to random characters. hope this works for ya

3. Then open up 7zip. ok....the files should be named ss6.3-1.zip.001 and ss6.3-1.zip.002

highlight those two, then right click to bring up the alternate menu then click 'extract files...' the first option.

then extract those files to your new folder. if this is what you did do then i'll have to go through things again. but you shouldn't have any file named ss6.3-1.zip in the folder just .001 and .002.

if it says this agian the downloads might of been corrupted (interruption in download, etc etc) and i don't know enough about split archives to repair which is what you'd have to do to avoid having to redownload. maybe someone else will know.

First is your mtw2 installed in Program Files, if it is:

Uninstall all mtw2 software. and re-install the original mtw2 to somewhere outside Program files like: C://Games
Install mtw2 (non ss) and kingdoms (non ss) to somewhere other than Program Files, should read like this

C:\Games\SEGA\Medieval II Total War instead of C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War

ok now go here to the 6.4 release thread: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=417435

and download the 6.3 megaupload links (there right below the 6.4 downloads in a spoiler) those are the ones i used and i can vouch for them. Download all of these to your desktop.

then take all the 6.3 downloads. the four .bin and the .exe and put them in a folder on your desktop that you create (name is ss6.3). Once there all in that folder by themselves click on the .exe and follow the instructions.
when you install SS, the installer will do the rest but the location should be: u still point it at the mods folder...but the installer should do it for u

C:\Games\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\ss6.3 instead of C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\ss6.3

now download one of mine (there all up but the others are probably fine too) 6.4 downloads. Once ss6.3 is installed run the 6.4.exe and the installer should point you too C:\Games\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\ss6.3 again.

should be good to go.

p.s. using these links you shouldn't have to zip or unzip anything.

it's the same...but since they don't show up for you...use the bane_tw torrent...can you do that? for 6.3 and either the 2shared or filefront for 6.4. 6.4 should be a single file .exe

the torrent you'll have to unzip for 6.3 and then take all the unzipped files and do the same thing as above.

No, you havent understood. I dont have dsl internet speed home. The filefront files i m asking about have been downloaded by me from an internet shop i cant visit again in next two weeks. I have chosen filefront simply because it downloaded files much faster than the others where i was.
Regarding the procedure, reading both readmes they look totally different to me..

I select both files together and when i extract them, loading bar has a freeze like at the half and that error comes out. Maybe some files are corrupted or damaged there.. i dunno.. you guys have to check. When i'll have time i'll try downloading the megaupload version or files via torrent directly.. np

sry man i tried , sounds like they got corrupted which can happen when they do parts downloads...if you know how to repair you can open them yourself...otherwise 2 weeks not so long for such a great mod . I'd recommend the torrent next time maybe so it all comes in one download...but i personally used the megaupload links .
