Would Windows Vista Just be able to Install Over windows XP Home edition or Would I have to uninstall XP Which I know is not easy. Sorry If it sounds like a stupid Question.

I am on fire, but an extinguisher is not required.
I dont think it would work, first of all you need a 64bit processor to run windows vista thats what i here . I would think you would have to end up buying a new computer.
Well you would have to reformat the hard drive to install Vista. It is a completly new OS and you couldn't just install over XP. It is also designed for 64 bit and dual core processors. As for being able to use it with a 32 bit processor, I don't know since I rarely pay attention to what M$ does. I just roll with the new software.
Like in all previous OS you’ll need to reformat the hard drive to install it.
Also Windows Vista will ship in both 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x64) versions. It supports both single and dual core, parhaps even more exotic CPU's as well.

The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. When in a state of security he does not forget the possibility of ruin. When all is orderly, he does not forget that disorder may come. Thus his person is not endangered, and his States and all their clans are preserved.
[edit] dumb question
How do I re-format the hard-drive. I have not done it before

You don't do anything. Just insert the CD/DVD and follow the instructions on-screen, just as in installing XP, ME or any other OS from Microsoft.Originally Posted by The Thracian

Those were the days. :original: Having to type in 300 characters commands, and if even one of them were mistyped you'd be doomed. I say things are much easier now days.Originally Posted by fallingstar
And yes Vista will work, but I don't know how smoothly. Here's a bit more info about Vista's System Requirements link

Ouch Proximus, those are very high Requirements. I'm building a High-End system, and it will only be a little better than the Reccomended Requirements. Looks like I will be spending money on upgrading the RAM and Processor (Possibly GPU) within the next year or so.
Remember those are just preliminary requirements, I very much doubt that it will be the requirements for the final shipping Vista. Microsofts goal clearly is to sell as much as possible, you can't do that if the OS require a truly high-end system.Originally Posted by PyrrhusIV
