Just downloaded SpeedFan and it seems that my GPU temp goes up to around 80c... sometimes 90 when playing NTW, even Minecraft. So, is this kind of temp considered to be normal? If not, is a cooling fan needed ASAP? Thanks.![]()

What is your GPU?
That temp is perfectly normal for some cards and a bit high for most others.

Well, according to Guru 3D the 9500GT should hit about 50C under load. So if you're up in the 80-90C range then I'd suggest you open your case up and see if your GPU fan/heatsink isn't chock full of dust.

Thanks for the helpful answer!
Okay then, just cleaned my GPU fan... and the rest of my computer, and the readings show that the temp has decreased. 60-70c most of the time when playing and only saw it reach the 80 mark only once. Now, is this normal considering that my GPU is more than 1 year old(sorry if I haven't stated that earlier)?

If it's generally in that 60-70C range infrequently hitting 80 then you should be fine. Other than cleaning the dust there really isn't anything else you could do to decrease the temps without buying an aftermarket cooler and I don't see that as necessary until you are hitting 85-90C.

Thank you very much for the answer once again.
A reward is deserved. Here, have some +rep.![]()

My 9500's clock ~50-65 celcius under load, and they're low profile, so you should be fine.
