Whenever i try to play RTW: Alexander with any Mod, it goes back to the desktop without crashing.
I click it over and over but it never works, it just keeps going back to the desktop and ill never be able to play the game like this if this happens.

Does Alex work without mods?
irishron, why are we seeing these cases pop up left and right recently? Two in M2 and now this. Something is strange....
@kostas84 - also could you tell us what OS you are using? Thank you.

I will try and run Alex without mods and see if it works fine.
I am running on Windows 7.
The original Alexander crashes on Startup.
But the mods work fine, except for the problem i described on the first post.

Have you tried reinstalling Alexander? Have you tried XP compatible?
Have you tried it whit the UAC disabled?
I re-installed Alexander just now and the problem persists.
What is UAC?
How do i make it XP Compatible?
Ohh my god this problem is so annoying, im getting pissed off.

UAC = http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/1...-in-windows-7/.
XP Compatible = right-click icon, click preferences. "Run as Administrator" is in there, too.
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=397636 may also help.
I will text the XP Compatibility and come tomorrow with results, if i dont come, please remind me with a PM, i tend to forget.![]()
Good luck.
Same thing happens, i hate this....
Its way to complicated to disable the UAC crap so i guess its no more RTW for me.

OK, looking over irishrons last post with instructions on how to configure the UAC on Win7 - yes it is a bit complicated. But it is not impossible.
You will need to enter the Control Panel from the Start Menu, find "User Accounts and Family Safety" (love the title), and ultimately this will lead you to the User Account menu. From the looks of it there is a slider bar that determines the level of "security" (loosely defined) that the UAC will impose. Slide the bar all the way to the bottom and that should in effect disable the UAC. This is definitely an idiot gauge way of doing things but it should work nonetheless.
Ignore any steps past one - they are for advanced users.
After doing so you should be able to uninstall-then-reinstall and hopefully it will work for you. Don't give up - if you give up now then an angel won't get her wings.
Good luck!
