Default Damned if you do, damned if you don't...

Some minorities will never be happy. I'm sure most Europeans know about this already. But seriously, the idiocy of this entire thing is epic in proportion. Damned if you oppose affirmative action and damned if you promote unqualified minorities. Read the article.

if you read the article, he got the job for politically correct reasons, he was promoted beyond his abilities without proper training being given, and this led to mistakes being a made. a perfect example of why positive discrimination is wrong and should be scrapped. if the minorities agree with this, why the hell is the government still pushing such a manifestily discriminatory policy?

Its not that absurd. Even though he would have profited from the compensation, the law is the law.

At least people recognized that he wasn't qualified. But to give him tens of thousands of dollars? Seriously...this is too much.

And here I was thinking you must be talking about the time I was forced to vote for SF Mayor Gavin Nuisance (D) because he was running againt an openly communist Green Party candidate, Matt Gonzalez (G).

As for the article: We will never reach Martin Luther's Dream of a colour blind society as long as we have racial quotas and preferencial treatement for certain racial groups.

It wasn't right when white anglo-saxon's did it, and it's not right now.

If you take four equally qualified people from harvard, a black woman, a black man, a white woman, and a white man, the white man and the black woman will be chosen.

They'll choose the most minority person there first, the black woman. Then they can't pick another black person or another woman, so they pick the white man.

Any discrimination at all should be abolished, whether for good or bad.

That is the biggest load of crap I have ever seen.

The only way to achieve total equality is to get rid of affirmative action. It is just reverse discrimination and we don't need to make retributions for the sins of our fathers. Affirmative action helps no-one.

He who joyfully marches to music rank and file, has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice. This disgrace to civilization should be done away with at once. Heroism at command, how violently I hate all this, how despicable and ignoble war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be a part of so base an action. It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder.

All you should do is treat the guy as a normal person i dont see whats so hard about that. They dont want special treatment, just treat them like anyone else. If hes unqualified, tell him and WHY hes unqualified, dont just hire him because hes black. Thats equally rascist.

Thats the problem, white people thinking up what black people do not like.

I agree with Al'Thor, things such as that is ABSURD.

You have a certain mentality, a "you vs them" and i know it is hard to see, but it is only your imagination which makes up enemies everywhere. I haven't professed anything but being neutral so why Do you feel the need to defend yourself from me?. Truly What are you defending? when there is nobody attacking?

"Positive discrimination" is discrimination, and therefore bad.

But this I think was the most interesting:
Had Sgt Turner's case reached a tribunal, potentially embarrassing secrets about Charles and Camilla's lives may have been aired.

A Met spokesman refused to confirm the compensation deal.
So basically this guy knows secrets about the personal life of the Prince (another girlfriend?).
And he probably used this as blackmail to get the $70.000.
    Nice.
I always respect people who blackmail Royalty.
Maybe some of the EU money we send them wil finally go to better use.
