Events are timed by the year, so 2 turns per year won't make any difference.
However, some other things, such as you'll find in the campaign script, are determined by the turn number.
To get these to fire on the correct turn you need to double the turn numbers (although you may need to be double then subtract one for some siege turns.)
(IE where an army sieges on Turn x, you need to attack on Turn x+1.)
You may find other problems scattered throughout other files - if you spot anomalies, you'll have to make a note and sort them out as you go along.
(or install a 2 tpy sub-mod.)
