    Default New graphics card

    Hi there

    Im looking for a new graphics card and fell over this: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1280m...00mhz-480-core

    There is loads of versions, but i think ive read somewhere this is almost as good as the 580

    Yeah, the GTX580 perorms about 15% better than the GTX570 yet it cost about 30% more so that makes the 570 a great value. The 570's performance is pretty much equal to the 480 which cost as much last series as the 580 does now.

    I have 2 GTX570's and they run cool and quiet (something not generally associated with NVidia cards) while maxing out any game at 1920x1080. In my HAF X case I get 37C idle and 76C load. I see you like Crysis so the 570 is a great choice for you if you plan on getting Crysis 2. NVidia has a lot more tessellation engines in their cards which will be useful when you crank up DX11 goodness.

    Buy a GTX570 different manufactures have different VRAM memory, memory\shader\core clock rates etc choose one with the max.

    the GTX 580 Gainward card had an excellent cooler with acceptable noise and thermals even when overclocked, plus it looks sexy. I'm not sure about this card but any 570 can be overclocked to gtx 580 levels.
