    Default Too easy.

Ok, guys, I recently though I'd play though the game again because well, its god damn awesome. Anyway, the stack spam is insane to say the least, when invading gaul it was like wading knee deep in corpses from italy to britain. Is there a way to make it so a civilisation can't do that? I mean, beating back stack after stack of regular troops is kinda boring. I want it so when I want to invade an area, I have a few big fights and then thats it, all thats left are peasants.

U can try 1-turn campaign. I tried it once, but after defeating few enemy armies easily I could conquer 3-5 settlements without much resistance. It was nice for building an empire, but bad for battles.
Stackspam is a problem that is difficult to balance.... game is either easy or it's stackspam. Sadly recruitment can't be like in MTW2 with less recruitment spots.
U can avoid stackspam if u conquer enemy lands quickly with an overwhelming force. If u blitz and focus ur efforts purely in military strenght u can conquer ur enemy quite fast. After the war u can resume strenghtening ur economy.
If u wait and advance slowly u give enemy more and more time to recruit units and face endless stacks.

    Strategy:
    - Have 2-4 full armies to take on enemy stacks. Rotate ur main armies at a border fortress for retraining, u will need a base of operations and that fortress is it.
    - Have 2-4 less than half-stacks with siege weapons to attack weak enemy settlements simultaneously.
    - Have ur border fortress ready with cheap occupation troops so when u capture a city u can relieve the attacking force quickly.
    - Have ur full armies attack hastily against any enemy armies u see. Ur main armies should advance deep so u can attract main enemy armies against them. Attack small stacks so u can kill many without losses and not let the enemy form greater armies.
    - Have ur less than half-stacks attack enemy settlements and breach them in the first turn. Bring ur occupation forces quickly so u can relieve ur siege forces to attack next settlement. U will need a lot of occupation forces and governors.

This strategy recuires a lot of troops. Speed is the key. If u are prepared for a blitz campaign like this u can take down 6 enemy settlements in few turns. That should weaken enemies ability to spam stacks.
I often have 50k denars spent on constructing buildings, but if I turn that money into armies I can muster quite a few stacks myself.

Try the Fewer Stacks Shorter battles EDU in Roma Surrectum II\Data\_IMPORTANT_STUFF\EDU changes. Copy and paste the EDU you need to the Data folder of whatever faction you're playing.

Alternatively there's Napoleonheir's Rome Vanilla length battles and rebalanced edu for longer faction survibability for 0 turn submod

Or if you're playing Rome and don't mind play 1-turn recruitment, go for chris10's Five Good Emperors submod.

I'm not certain I understand the thread title in terms of the things actually posted. 'Too Hard' may have been closer. But yeah, 1-turn may be your cup of tea.

    Easy??
In 0 turn with a banch of armies invading your lands again and again without taking a breath?
Are you playing in very easy with autoresolved battles?
In hard/hard this mod became a chalenge for me and belive me i am winning or loosing battles 10 years now (from Shogun 1 time)...
TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.
Despite the mod is dead does not mean that anyone can use its material
    read this to avoid misunderstandings.

IWTE tool master and world txt one like this, needed inorder to release TGC 1.0 official to help TWC to survive.
Adding MARKA HORSES in your mod and create new varietions of them. Tutorial RESTORED.
