    Default Question about unit stamina

With the battles in RS2 taking a long time(which I like) lots of units grind down each other usually leaving each other exhausted or at least very tired.

What effect does their stamina state have on the unit? I know exhausted units move much slower, but I was wondering if there is any hard data on it effecting other things like moral or attack/defense. If so I'm wondering if it is worth it to rotate units out of combat, which would be neat. But if it only effects move speed I might as well leave them in the fight.

Less attack and defense I think, perhaps less morale as well.

If u play with a roman legion u can put ur cohorts into guard-mode. This way they will save much energy and will not tire quickly. They will however be less effective in offense, but when the enemy is exhausted while ur troops are rather fresh it starts to work in your favour. It works with other faction of course, but roman legions have good defence while other factions are better at offense.

Stamina is something u need to watch. If my army has to climb a huge hill or something I always make sure they get to rest before fighting. Fresh army does fight much better and exhausted army does perish alot faster.

Rotating infantry units is quite difficult. When u pull out ur unit from a fight they are likely to lose many soldiers while retreating.
U can use a tactic where u have set up a double line of infantry and use the first one in guard mode to tire the enemy and when the moment is right u unleash the fresh troops. This tactic can work very well if u are outnumbered or fight in a bottleneck situation.

But since morale is very high usually I just let my troopers fight even when tired. In MTW exhaustion was a real morale loss and caused routing, but not really in RS2. I always commit all my troopers into the fight, the more I kill, the less are likely to kill me.
U can also move ur general behind ur infantry line so they fight better.
