It rolled in as part of Windows update yesterday so I should think almost everyone already has it. In light of that I'd like to mention this thread is kinda pointless.

So I tried installing it and it failed. I suspect it has something to do with BITS not starting automatically like it should be doing. Then it took close to an hour to revert the changes.

It's better to let install via windows update rather than manual install.

Had a weird experience with the Win7 SP1 when it came out - installed fine, but it scuppered my internet connection.
The same router that had just downloaded the SP1 suddenly couldn't connect to the internet from my Win7 PC.
(Connected fine with my old XP PC though.)

So I did a system restore and bingo Win7 PC works fine with the router, can connect OK.
Check Windows update - all SP1 installed fine.

Now had the same issue - installed latest Win7 updates and lost my internet connection.
SO did a system restore and everything works fine.
(and everything I'd just installed is still installed.)

    any ideas?

    just re-installed today's updates again.
did them one by one, and everything seems fine.

After I installed it, I couldn't get Win7 to boot. Wound up having to install Linux. Problem could have something to do with the fact that my machine was originally Windows Vista, and I did the whole "free upgrade to Windows 7" thing.

Whe I bought windows 7 I didnt choose the upgrade option. I just formatted the hd. It is a lot easier to format a computer nowadays. It is also good to get rid of old unused files.

Mine was a clean Win7 install on a new machine.

anways still having same problem - looks like it might be the Malicious Software removal Tool or a security thing as it turns the windows firewall on
when I already have another firewall running.

Three system restores in 1 day is tedious.
