Mac OSX problem
Hello guys and gals.
Let me reiterate here what I've recently asked in my Mac OSX thread:
I successfully installed the game using the RomeModSetup. Upon loading the game, everything seemed fine on the surface until I tried playing the game. I noticed right off the bat that the "Continue Campaign" option was lit up and available. This was curious, since I haven't played the Mac version yet. I decided to check it out, and it brought me straight to a Sauromatae campaign at its very beginning. I checked the saved games after quitting this only to discover that the only saved game you can load was an Autosave from February 23 (today).
I thought this strange, but decided to move on. However, in the Single Player menu, when I tried hitting the button to start a new EB campaign (which should bring you to the menu of playable factions to pick from), I kept getting an error message saying something like "Please select a faction from the list" before the page was even brought up! This is a serious stumbling block, one which makes the game worthless and unusable if not for custom battles. Yet I would rather play the damn campaigns! I also checked the Historical Battles button, which brought me to the menu page for selecting battles, but surprise surprise, there's nothing but a blank list!
Does anyone have a solution to this? I'd hate to be stuck with vanilla Rome Total War overseas. That would piss me off extremely. I hope it's just some simple mistake on my part, and not some serious programming error on the part of Feral Interactive.
Cheers,

Re: Mac OSX problem
I've brought up this problem of mine over at totalwar.org:
http://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showth...support-thread
However, no one there is offering any help; I'm judging that their silence means they don't have the slightest clue what happened with my mod.
Can anyone here shed light on this? It has been suggested to me that RTW 1.5 patch is necessary to fix the problem, but such a patch is unavailable for Macintosh.
In the meantime, I'm playing the Rome Total Realism mod, but it's just not the same.

Re: Mac OSX problem
The problem here is that nobody on the EB-team uses a Mac to play/mod, therefore nobody can fully understand Mac-related problems, so it is not a lack of offering but rather a lack of knowledge.
The "Select item from list" error on PC stands for a wrong RTW version, the use of RomeTW-ALX.exe without the right command line switch or a corrupt installation.
The first is very uncommon as RTW for Mac is already patched to 1.5, the second could be a possible lead if Alexander is also installed and you start EB using RomeTW-ALX.exe, the third requires you to wipe any traces of RTW&EB from your HD and start new.
