Is Tom Bambadil in this? If he isn't he should be. He could be like in BFME2, except as powerful cavalry, so while skipping, has cavalry charge effect.

far from lore firendly, so, no! Tom Bombadil never interfered with the wars of the world
edit: nor did he want to or have to.
in the end this is more of a "what if" scenario. Boromir can become the steward of Gondor, and many other lore events can be happily changed. It's pretty much a trade off between an initial "lore-like" scenario, and medieval 2 gameplay. I wouldn't have it any other way, otherwise the sandbox feeling of the game would go completely lost.
"What if" scenarios imho should stay out of novel recreating
games....novel should be the canon....and a derailment away from it
may lead to most unpleasant results....both visual and gameplaying ones
we need to bow to games limitations .....yes
we need to follow the novel more though....at least as for starting status cause
as it seems AI allways tends to disappoint us with not so "intelligent" options....
What if scenarios may be the key word for historical games
where the real challenge IS to change history's trail....
but Here....uhmmm lets say that
should this "what if" scenario means bazzoka dwarves-sauron in love with gimli-trolls getting married with elves or even
small derailments from the canonical aspect of the lore
then no please....
a "what if" scenario normally stays reasonably between the limits of fictional realism. Third age does that, so I see no problem with that. If you wanted a "canon" LOTR game, you probably are playing and modding the wrong game. You should be playing/modding a RPG and not a sandbox "total war" wargame.
How about as an ancillary![]()
